A business plan is an essential tool for starting a new business or growing an existing one.

It is a strategic document that provides details on how a company will commercialise theirs products in the market and generate revenue.

Is there a connection between IP and business plan❓ YES

✅ IP influences companies strategic decisions such as the business model
✅ IP describes the unique specificities of the company (trademark, patent)
✅ IP reduces uncertainty on the viability of the business (IP ownership).

Without a business plan it will be difficult to build a strong and effective IP strategy and thus to achieve your goals.

As SMEs what are your main challenges when developing your business plan? what is the most difficult part? Have you ever ever included IP in your business plan?
