Did you notice that in our daily life we interact with products or services protected by intellectual property (IP) ?
Look at this picture how many products can you identify? there is a lot of chance that each of them has been protected with some forms of intellectual property rights.
Here are some IP you might associate with those products (eyeglasses, shirts, bracelets, bottle of water, lip gloss etc):
1️⃣ trademark helps distinguish business products or services from others in the market (trademark exemple : Vitale, Isabel Marant, Chanel etc).
2️⃣ design protects the visual appearance of a new and original product; this appearance maybe combinaison of colour, shape and more. For exemple combinaison of shape and colour of this eyeglasses could be protected by design rights.
3️⃣ Patent protects technical invention for exemple the process for manufacturing women bracelets is patentable.
